Question on Burning

Hi, is there any setting (like memory, ide, etc.) in Windows XP that would affect cd/dvd burning?

Last week, I found that I was unable to burn cd/dvd, the drive simply fails to lead-in. Then nero shows "track following error".

But then this week, I got it working. But after burning one dvd, it fails again.
I switched it to another computer. It still fails to lead-in. BUt then it works when I lower the speed to 2x.

Any idea?

If you have your burner as a slave to the hard drive that you are trying to burn from then it will likely fail.
