My gaming PC is outdated looking to upgrade i have a 480 from 2017. most of all the games I play now like Warzone I just get mad fps lag might be due to bad RAM had it since 2017 and haven't upgraded anything.

Looking at 3060 brand new for 330$
is there any better graphics card I should be eyeing in this price range?

motherboard/processor what should I be looking at?

processor should I be eyeing amd over Intel? thanks for your advice if you would like to recommend what you think I should at to the build or spec-wise compare amd vs intel thanks.

Most likely will just end up buying everything brand new over the next few months instead of trying to upgrade the current pc i have.

Can you list your current complete PC specs for us first?
i7 7700k
16gb ram 2133mhz
480 msi rx 8gb
750wat power supply < this is most likely not needed for upgrade
z170-a mother board <
this setup is most likely done for everything that is going to need upgraded no point in trying to save it at this point it's too outdated.
motherboard wont handle a 3060 etc. only thing that might be saveable is the case since it is a mid-tower but most likely will upgrade this as well. The best thing I can do is just sell my parts or pc as is to re-coup some to invest in the new build

Best bang for your buck right now would be AMD with the next gen releasing soon the current stuff has good pricing. Just a few months ago I picked up an Amazon return x670e mobo for $160. Price on the 7900x CPU dropped by $100 less than a month later. It's a decent time to rebuild and upgrade. All in I think it was close to $800 for a complete rebuild minis GPU. I ended up adding a GPU though for $100 for Plex media conversions though to speed them up. I went with a sparkle a380.

For gaming, your only choice should be Ryzen 7800X3D. You could skimp on a decent Gigabyte or MSI mobo using the B650E chipset, instead of going for the higher end X670. If you are looking to do stock DDR5 RAM, MSI should be fine. ASROCK would also serve you well. But if you want to play with DDR5 and get the best experience in overclocking DDR5 or reducing its timings, Gigabyte may have the edge. Also, Gigabyte mobos seem to have the shortest POST times. ASUS as of late hasn't been problem free. Try going for 48GB RAM as 32GB seems to be getting close to the limit with some games that may eat up to 25GB RAM. A decent NVMe SSD like WD SN770, SN850, Crucial P5 or P5 Plus to round out the package. I wouldn't buy a Samsung NVMe SSD because you never know when you get hit with a firmware bug with them.

What is y9our budget for the new build?
will be roughly 1300-1500$
most likely will get 64 GB RAM since I do other stuff in the background and having 16 GB most games I play run up to 80% with all the browsers I have open. + Gaming
without gaming is like 40-50% 32gb would most likely be fine but meh rather run it up to 64gb were i dont have to worry in the long run. or even have ram issues its only 250-300$ for the ram,
gfx card 330$
depending on mother board 200-300$
processor 250-400

A GeForce 3060 for $330 is a terrible deal.

I wouldn't call a 6750 XT a lower end GPU; IMHO it's nearly mid-range and handles some 1440p gaming at medium settings. You could say it's not very future proof, but at least it has enough VRAM.

I also went with a slightly "imbalanced" combo of 7800X3D + RX 6800, but that's okay IMO. I can always drop in a new GPU in 2027 if I need to.
Originally I had intended for Ryzen 7 7700 and RX 6750 XT, but sometimes you deviate based on the best deals available.

We don't know where the OP is, but if he's in the U.S. and can drive to a Micro Center, that is often a great option.
