Question on Asus P4P800E deluxe and bios versions.

According to Asus' website, the latest Bios for this MB is 1002. Yet I have heard some say they have used ver 1016. I know this is the latest version for the P4P800-deluxe. Do the E versions of the MB allow the use of the non-E Bios? Or should I only use the 1002 version? Thanks.

Actually the latest version you can find is 1004 BETA 1. But officially you can only find 1002, as that is the latest stable release. There are differences between P4P800E and P4P800 at hardware level. For example the P4P800 uses a 3com 1gb NIC while the P4P800E uses a Marvell 1gb NIC. The audio codecs are also different. If you really want a newer BIOS for your MB go to ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSC...hipset/i865pe/P4P800-E and get 1004 BETA 1
