WENEEDLIGHT, no. Tipping at full serve stations is not necessary. But then again, neither is most of the tipping that goes on in this country...

I can't speak for Oregon, but NJ is usually cheaper than NY or PA, and we sometimes have the cheapest prices in the country due to low gas taxes. Note the low gas taxes - of course we have to make up for it elsewhere like with our high property taxes.

You're right about the tipping though, I've never heard of someone tipping for gas here unless you have them add a quart of oil or something.
 
Yeah, I've never heard of tipping a gas attendant. They are doing their job putting gas into my car. Perhaps if there was the option of self service in Oregon, as well as full service, then I might consider tipping for full service. However, I am forced to have them put gas in my car, when I would perfer to do it myself.
