Question: How do I determine what sound card I have?

I just bought an HP dv9000 laptop and every now and then my sound craps out on the machine, between all the initial updates that I've had to get and whatnot I figure the drivers have been done in. However, I've been into the device manager and there isn't anything that is having problems... and it's also not giving me a name of my sound card either.

So what do I do?

You could try a copy of Everest Home Edition. It will list just about any detail on your pc. It has been discontinued, but you can still find a copy here: here.
