I believe this was mentioned in the VP debate.

If the training of Iraqi security forces is not going well, why does our government not take the Iraqis out of the country, say to Kuwait and give them proper training there?

It was an interesting suggestion by I believe Sen. Edwards. Any thoughts?

Someone has already pointed out that it doesn't matter how well trained they are, but their motivation for fighting is not strong enough. One side, you have a group that would be willingly give their lives up for what they believe in, and the other side, you have a paycheck.

I think that the Iraqi people that I know personally would be HIGHLY offended by that. It is about the same as saying liberals simply have their own personal benefit at mind and not the greater good of the world or country.

1/2 of the Iraqi army seems to disagree with you Nearly half the newly recruited Iraqi army has quit in a row over poor pay, officials in Baghdad admitted yesterday.
