I notice that when i'm online with netzero running, my Taskmanager in Win2000 tells me that my CPU is utilized 100%. This is odd to me cuz I don't have any appz running that would use up all my CPU and this happens only with Netzero. I wonder if Netzero had downloaded something onto my computer and crunching numbers for them like SETI. Anyone else with this experience?

Hmmm, i used netzero with win98 and i didn't notice constant 100% cpu utilization, but it does use alot of power. It is entirely based on java, and my computer's system resources drop like 30% when i have netzero loaded.

I didn't have that problem when I was using NetZero, but maybe b/c I found out how to get rid of those annoying ads........

In Task Manager what does it say is using the CPU?

FYI.

W2K really doesn't support Win/Dos Applications anymore. It simple emulates them. Therefore any dos application would take 100% of CPU process. (eg Telnet, Access)

I use Netzero (the $9.99 Platinum service), and sometime Zcast will show that it is using 100% CPU time. I don't know why but sometimes it just will. 95% of the time though it uses 0% CPU time. I can always tell when it is burning up cycles b/c my CPU temp will jump in my system tray while online.
