Question for those that have been to or live in Nashville, TN

My wife and I are going to be in Nashville for our honeymoon coming up in May and we know that Nashville is in a dry county which means no purchasing alcohol for us once there. We've also seen many review of restaurants, etc that allowing BYOB into the establishment. My question is how does this work? Can you drink freely there just not purchase? Can you really BYOB to some restaurants? Can you buy alcohol in bars but not a liquor store? Should we stock up before we hit town? Just trying to get some clarification on this, thanks guys!

The other thing about TN is when on your honeymoon with your sister, she has to carry YOU across the threshold.

The hell you talking about? Must be buying all my booze from the illegal liquor stores. They aren't very good at staying undercover what with the billboards and all.

That said, liquor stores are closed on Sunday. You can still buy beer, but no wine/spirits unless you buy from a restaurant.

Nah, she doesn't even lift, bro.

Well good to know, apparently I fail at the interwebs.

You guys do know that 98% of all statistics are made up, right? I learnt that from the internet.

I read that New Orleans is in a dry county before I attended Mardi Gras a few years ago. I almost cancelled the entire trip. There were no statistics given, so I was unsure of what to do.

It's too bad you didn't ask good questions like what the best restaurants are in town, best bars, etc. Depending on when you will be in town the Preds could still be playing in the Stanley Cup playoffs so that is an option you might not normally have. There are a number of concerts happening in Nashville throughout the month of May. Etc.

But to answer your question. You should definitely byob everywhere and let us know how that goes. Should be an interesting trip report.
