recently, I had a girl in my room over so that I could show her what the "big scary eyes" thing in anime is. Eventually we settled down to watch a film and she fell asleep in my lap (during the movie, watching, for those of you with THAT way of thinking). Later, she said it was very uncharacteristic of her because she doesn't usually get that comfortable with people that quickly. having thought about this, I wonder, how long does it take for you to get "comfortable" with a guy.

Oh, no pics, we haven't been out all that many times. We're still "grading" each other I suppose.

It all depends....some guys you just feel safe with for some reason...the momemt you meet them....for a normal guy, I'd say it takes me a few monthes to truly be comfortable and trust them.

To get comfortable? Have to spend a fair amount of time around him; I always want to make sure that he knows me thoroughly before I do anything (like that) that could possibly be misinterpreted as interest. But that's because I don't have interest in 99.999% of guys I meet. If I meet him through a friend who's briefed him about what I'm like, I'm more inclined to be comfortable like that around him after a couple of hang-out times.

So falling asleep with a guy the third time out is abnormal in general I take it?

There is no normal. Depends on the girl. And the guy. And the situation. Could mean she's interested, could mean otherwise. How "in your arms" was she? No hard and fast rules.

Seems like she's falling asleep on you a lot guy... you might be boring... and you're boring her to sleep?

If girls are interested, they don't fall asleep in your lap, especially 3 times, if you know what I'm sayin.

IMHO. ($0.02)

That's what I'm thinking. It's headed the way of the dreaded "just good friends" situation. A girl who's really interested wouldn't want to let herself fall asleep in your company... she would be giving a bad impression. Then again, there's always exceptions. Good luck.

No, she watches, she just didn't know what I was talking about when I said "big scary eyes". We ended up viewing gattaca after I demonstrated what big scary eyes is.

I just ask because it spooked me a tiny bit when she put her head down and went to sleep. I always thought it was abnormal behavior, but friends say it isn't in their dormitory environments. Admit it, most guys here would be startled or shocked or amazed if someone put their head in their lap out of the blue.

I ran out of things to drink. :p

It's funny tho, one thing that does scare me tho is that I found out today that her friends and parents are HARDCORE mac users. Like, crucify any pc in a 100ft types. Fanatical even.

no comment.

Well off to bed now.

To be honest, for me it takes a while, regardless. However, it isn't as long with a nice guy as it is with someone I'm highly suspicious of.

I guess it takes time for me to trust someone. I could be cool with you, but it doesn't mean we're lovers or that I'm very comfortable with you. That one just takes so much time. It varies from girl to girl. However, generally speaking, most women don't take too long to get comfortable. If it took them long, then there wouldn't be stranded ladies out there because they didn't take their time to know the men they were sharing their beds with.

Speaking of . . . don't mind those guys who're trying to scare you with the "you're too boring" idea. :p If you were too boring, chances are she wouldn't sleep on your lap anyway. She wouldn't even want to be your friend. Is it possible that this is true? Yes. But I don't think that it is true in this case.
