Hey I have a question.

The navigation system that comes with the Toyota Avalon ( The ECU Unit )

How much does that run for ?
Also do you know if that is the same unit as the one in the IS300 ?

well salesman don't work on the NAV ECU units.

I'm certain a Toyota Tech would be the one that's either replacing it or doing service on these devices. So wouldn't he be able to get the pricing on them and have more insight on it ?

are you planning on swapping it into your IS300? I think it'd be QUITE expensive if you were to do that. Atleast thats what I hear about putting in OEM nav units into a car that didn't have it.

It would probably cheaper to get those Alpine units.

are you planning on swapping it into your IS300? I think it'd be QUITE expensive if you were to do that. Atleast thats what I hear about putting in OEM nav units into a car that didn't have it.

It would probably cheaper to get those Alpine units.

I'm acutally getting it from overseas 🙂 For like 500ish which is cheap.
It'll be in the factory spot, Motorized with tilt. I just would need to swap out the ECU unit. I think the new ones on the 03/04 are dvd based but the one on mine is HD based.

I'll have to change the panels in the armrest area ( Controls ) and wire it up.
Putting the Motorized in the factory spot is easy. It's just unscrewing like 4 screws wiring it and screwing it in.

but are you sure your getting all the parts that you need? and also other if other functions of the car tie into the nav units (like in current cars how the climate control/audio system are all integrated into the nav unit). I'm not sure if thats how it is OEM in the Avalon and IS300 (I've never seen the NAV in either model).

If none of the auxillary functions are integrated into the NAV unit, you should be good to go.

Climate control is all seperate.
Audio Control is seperate. Nav unit is just nav unit 🙂

Yes i'll be getting all the parts. It'll be coming off the Altezza in Japan 🙂 😀
The reason why I asked about the Avalon Nav was cuz the Remote control works in the IS300 NAV system.
The remote wasn't offered in the IS300 tho. Yet the Avalon one works.

If I purchase the US Nav ECU everything will show up in US format. I'm assuming.
The contols has few japanes, but I would most likely purchase the remote so that wouldn't be a problem 🙂
