if there was a god, people would all believe the same thing.

ever hear of sects? schisms? the first christian was jewish.

so what was moses? all the old testament dudes? I'm confused...

I'm confused as to what you're confused about... you thought moses was a... christian?

i guess so

enlighten me ;)

Moses was jewish, also known as the israelite children.
Jesus and all the desciples were also jews.
Christianity did not come until jesus the messiah died on the cross and rose from the dead. "the way" was the official first christian sect. Started by peter, paul and the rest of the disciples. The death and ressurection of jesus removed all the aminal sacrifices and jewish laws that moses originated.
Jews do not believe that jesus arose from the dead or was the messiah, and still practice the laws and customs of moses.

Moses, and just about everyone in the Bible was Jewish.

Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah that Jews are waiting for.

so they think jesus wasn;t the son of god? blasphemy :|

The bible tells us he was...

deep down dug, some of us have the mental capacity to be able to simultaneously have faith in something without sh!tting all over something else. i see no reason to carry it any further than that - i am respectful of others' beliefs and will leave it at that.

well, moses got the 10 commandments right? well when he came off the mountain his followers were so rebellious and wicked he broke the tablets. When he went back up the mountain to get another copy God decided to give them a little training course in reffered to as the "school teacher" (or something like that) in the NT. AKA the law of Moses, which happens to be the Code of Conduct for pre-messiah Jews.

The law of moses included tons of commandments, sacrifice being one of them. They would sacrifice the best looking lamb of the flock or whatever... which is in similitude of what Christ would do for the entire human race. So Christians believe the Messiah has come, and fulfilled the law of Moses. Jews still practice the Law of Moses (to a certain extent) because in their oppinion the messiah hasn't come yet.

So technically, Moses was kinda the founder of the modern Jewish religion. or at least that's my understanding of it. Correct me if I'm wrong please (I always get those OT details screwed up :p)

:edit: holy frick I'm slow lol

literal interpretation of religious texts has destroyed many things over the ages and continues to be a problem to this day, there's no disputing that.

Which really makes you question who is right and who is wrong because according to Christian teachings Jews will be denied entrance to Heaven because they do not accept Christ as their savior.

I feel it's there for those who need something to guide them in their walk of life.

Except you didnt read the story of revelations, which depicts the events surrounding the end times, after severe persecution, in which the jews will recognize that jesus was the messiah afterall.

That's fine, but doesn't really answer my question. Take any issue where your religion contradicts another religion. Do you believe that
a) The other religion is wrong on that issue
b) you just don't think about it, don't wish to answer that question
c) other

I'm agnostic, and my beliefs contract most if not all religions in certain ways. I do believe they are wrong on these issues, but i still respect their beliefs and i don't think they are stupid.

I also believe the iraq war was wrong and believe the universe is infinately large. I realize there are people much more intelligent then myself that contract my beliefs, and I realize I could be wrong and I don't hate them.

It's not so much that I didn't read it, but I've forgotten quite a bit from my religious days. Just that statement alone can open up a whole new can of worms that I won't touch.

i guess i choose option b then.

there is a safe haven for my mind and soul in believing in what i believe without taking it any further. it's where i will remain, and i will accept that there are simply questions that do not need to be answered at this point.

Ah... the basis of monotheism.

Yes, I believe solely in my religion and dismiss others and their gods.

Then how did so many people end up with the wrong religion, and the europeans ended up with the right one?

I am a Christian fundamentalist, but please note that I define "fundamentalist" very differently from most people.

My definition of this word is this: I attempt to base my beliefs on the Bible alone, and not on church tradition, custom, trends, creeds, or anything else that are not taken directly from scripture. The result of this is that I very often disagree with other Christians and other "official church policies" because I believe that there are tons and tons of things that churches and Christians do and believe that are not scriptural. In other words, I think that many churches and Christians don't follow the Bible, but rather what they think is in the Bible, but is in fact rooted in something else.

So I am kind of an oddball. Non-Christians think that I'm just like every other idiot Christian that they've ever met, and Christians think that I'm some kind of radical troublemaker.

With all that preface information in mind, I believe that what I believe is mostly correct with room for constant improvement as I study and learn the Bible more, and that other religions (including what a lot of Christians are doing) are not.

 This pretty much sums up my position.
