Question for mothers

Did you ever get the feeling that if you didn't have children soon you would never have them? What age did this begin?

The way the OP posed her question makes no sense. "Mothers, did you ever get the feeling that if you didn't have children soon you would never have them?"

They already have children, so they can't "never have them".

Now if she said "Mothers, before you got pregnant, did you ever get the feeling that if you didn't have children soon you would never have them?" that would make more sense.

her question makes perfect sense the way it is worded. the mothers are asked of something in their past.

When I first found out I was pregnant, I was devistated.

I was living with her father for almost three years when I got pregnant, but I never, ever wanted to have children. Not ever. When I got the test results, I have a choice to make. I thank God for making the right one, because I adore my daughter. She defines me. She has been and still is my focus, purpose and if the sole reason for my existance is to be her mom... then it is an honor of which I still strive to be worthy.

My husband called me in to respond to this question (my first post here )

Yes, we had our first child when I was 28 and I was having those thoughts before I became pregnant. The "baby" clock started ticking after we were married, but my husband wanted to wait till our 6th anniversary (and we finished our education) before starting a family. I still want more, at least 1 or 2, but I am working on convincing him at the moment.

Oh and thanks to all of you for making my husband stay up late at night keeping me up (and waking the baby up) with his laughing from what he reads on this website. I have had many sleepless nights thanks to you all.

I love hearing stories like this. Children are the greatest gift of all.

I don't think the reality of the "tick" is just there yet but the thought "down the road" is! I'm engaged to get married next April. My fiance is very busy with his family run biz so the balance of time will always come into play. I have plenty of friends that lead very busy lives and have several (one family has five - all two years apart!) children. If they can do it, so can we!
