I'm having an extremely difficult time accepting a few things supposedly based on the bible and I'm curious as to how others might view them.

1. Why is the world in the current condition that it is if their is a God?

2. Why are humans born with certain tendecies or desires that are defined as sinful?

Its a shame that people can't come to a general forum and expect an intelligent conversation without all the sarcasm. I can understand not everyone being interested in a particular topic but why intrude and antagonize another person because you don't like what their speaking about?

sorry, it's just that I think there have been a lot of religion threads lately and people are pretty sick of the flame wars that ensue. Hopefully you will get some intelligent replies...

Maybe it's because we've had similar discussions at least a thousand times before? Some people would say: use the 'search' function.

*yawn*

*zzzzzzz*

*streeeeetchhhh*

/wakes up looks around....sees same 'ol stuff....rolls over, and falls asleep again.

Maybe a JW, or another Bible thumper will pop in this morning, and feed ya the typical garbage that's been regurgitated ad nauseum around here.

OK, I'll move on...sorry for the uneccesary sarcasm.

Elledan - If a thousand people posted about pollution, but you had your own way of speaking about it would'nt you want your chance to communicate?

Its amazing how judgemental some people can be, but yet I'm quite sure everyone who posts here beleives in free speech. If you don't have anything to contribute why don't you just move on?

no one is preventing people who do give a damn from posting in here. If anything we're keeping the thread warm for you (i.e. at the top) until the religious/atheistic zealots wake up.

You should be thanking us! Just chill out dude... you'll get your replies.

heh, free speech

"help help I'm being oppressed"

Since when does people telling you they don't want to hear it equate to someone trying to deny you the right to speak (which you really don't even have here).

Capn--

Shame on you! It's repressed! As in:

"Help Help I'm bein' repressed"

"Bloody Peasant"

"Oh you hear that? What a giveaway."

Love that movie :)

All I'm saying is why criticize a person simply because his question might be similar to others?

Whats the use, forget it.....

nobody criticised you. People are just expressing their opinion about the subject. I admit it's immature... but it's all in good fun.

God wants you to laugh! Go see the movie "Dogma" if you don't understand.

Its the exact oppisite, not allowing members to post whatever they want in this thread would be against free speach.

You are just trying to start a flame war, especially since you ask a certain group makes you suspect. Therefor since people are sick of it they post as they do.

My answer to this is, people don't find faith at the best of times, they find it when things can't get much worse. Since it's never going to be a perfect world, Religion will always have its place.

Actually I do read the bible, which is why I'm having such a hard time accepting the way the world is today. If you're interested I can give you some examples of things that make me really confused.

Arkitech, you're so deep. Try asking a question that hasn't been asked a million times already.

ugh, if there is a god, why do bad things happen, ugh?

ugh, why are their bad people?

me smart I ask smart questions.

May I please have some more play-doh to eat?

I'm not picking on a certain group, the reason I've directed my questions to that group is because its the one I'm most familiar with. Beleive my intentions are'nt to start any type of flamewar, I'm just really having a struggle within myself right now. I'm literally on the verge of going from an extremely religious person to one who does'nt have any faith anymore.

If you're honestly looking for answers then this isn't necessarily the best place to come to. A talk with a local minister would probably do a lot more to answer your questions than most of what you'll receive here. In any case, I mistakenly thought you were trying to start another flame war, you have my apology.

Being slightly more awake I want to actually be helpful to you, and this is the best resource I have ever seen. It's damn close to being completely unbiased, which is what you need right now.
