Hey, i'm soon going to be getting an ipod (windows version) and i have one question.

I've read that windows will recgonize the ipod as a "mass storage device" and give it a drive letter. So my question is can you just use it that way (as a drive) to copy over mp3's? I only ask casue i HATE musicmatch.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

No, you cannot just copy mp3s to it. The music directories are hidden.

You can however download ephipod for free and use it instead of Musicmatch.

Short answer, no. Long answer, when you just copy files over you can use the iPod to transfer them but it won't play them. The reason is there is an internal database that gets updated when Musicmatch/Xplay/Ephpod copy songs over, if the song isn't in that database the iPod doesn't know about it.

Best,
Bill
