Getting better hardware isn't going to improve your visuals by itself, what it does is it improves your frame rate.

If you want to better graphics, then you'll have to find some mods for the game and install them.

A 32 bit operating system limits your maximum ram memory usage to around 3 gb as in, it doesn't recognize more than that even if you have, say, 16 gb of ram.

Basically, yeah, vanilla crysis doesn't look all that impressive anymore in 2011, although there are like only 2-3 games that surpass it visually, so it's pretty much as good as you're going to get without graphics mods.

Get Win7 64. Your card is using almost 1/2 your system memory space all by itself. Add OS, A/V, firewall, etc. and you could have issues running out of available RAM.

Make sure you configure/use the Samsung TV properly. TVs are not made to be used as computer monitors. The big size is nice. But often you need certain features that are standard in monitors, but not in TVs.

I know that my Samsung TV has different input modes. One of those is for gaming. All the other modes give some kind of delay. A delay that is hardly noticeable when you watch a movie or a tv-channel. Just when you press a button to switch channels, or ff/rewind through a film, you notice half a second delay. But I imagine that when you play a game, such a delay is unbearable. I guess the delay is caused by the Samsung-TV doing some processing on the picture. But for gaming, you don't want that. So check if your TV has a special mode for gaming. And if so, make sure your TV is set to that gaming-mode.

There could also be all kinds of settings on the TV which make the picture look crap. Too light, too dark, not enough contrast. High contrast can make letters look unreadable. Maybe your videocard didn't detect the proper resolution, and your TV does upscaling ? I can think of all kinds of stuff that can go wrong. It's one of the reasons I am happy with my 24" Samsung monitor attached to my PC, and use my 40" Samsung TV for watching movies. I wouldn't think of switching them around.

Also check the settings in Crysis. Before you download mods, make sure you have the settings at the highest quality. Maybe the picture is crap because you set the game to low quality settings ? Note, the higher settings you use, the lower frames-per-second (fps) you can expect. You can check fps with a free tool called Fraps.

Maybe you still have the monitor from your previous PC ? Or a monitor of someone else in your family ? Hook up a proper monitor to your new PC temporarily, and see if the picture looks better. If it does, you know your TV needs some tweaking.

Congratulations on your new machine. 2600k and a gtx580. Really nice machine.
