Question for EPOX 8K7A owners

I'm looking at the "Recommended Processor List" for Epox motherboards, specifically the 8K7A catagorey. The list shows the maximum speed processor for a Rev. 1 board with a BIOS of 11/26/01 is 1900+, and the Rev. 1.2 board with a BIOS of 3/4/02 is 2100+. I bought my mother board prior to 11/26/01. Can I just flash to the latest BIOS and be able to run a 2100+ processor, or is there a hardware issue with this board that limits what processor I can install?

Seriously? You don't have to pay attention to the revision of the board? I have an 8k7a Rev 1.0, and I was looking at that list today. It says that you need a Rev 1.1 board to run a Thoroughbred, but if I don't, that's great.

Anyone know for sure?

I'm not sure if it'll work without flashing it... chances are it might not tho... but thats just my opinion.

Flashing it to March revision will work tho.. as I have just done that. Got rid of my old 1.4 Tbird and replaced it with 2000+ core.

Cool! I'd definitely flash to the latest bios before trying to put a new proc on.

Now I'm stoked... my board will take a Thoroughbred 🙂
