I didn't hear anything about the RAID issues being fixed in the beta BIOS, but that doesn't mean that they aren't.... I don't have time to mess around with it or I would test it myself and let you know.

Actually there are a bunch of people that I have heard of that are satisfied with the board. The RAID 0 on SATA does work, you just have to set it up in a very specific manner. I can understand why people are frustrated with the board because if you don't do things just right the RAID will not work. However, once you get the board up and running correctly it kicks some serious backside!

Another quick question for the VNF3-250 owners out there:

My vnf3-250 will arrive today; I am installing an Audugy2 instead of using the built in sound. Since I am using an alternate sound card, do I need to install int AMR "riser" card, or do I simply leave this off?

Thanks!

I believe you are supposed to leave it off, and don't forget to disable the integrated sound in the bios.

Just flashed the new bios and I now have multiplier control...can't wait for my PC 4200 to show...HE HE HE

Hey BB,

Thanks for the info -- makes sense to leave off the rise...just wanted to check. My OCZ pc3700EB arrived last night, a64 3200+ and vnf3-250 arrive today! I can not wait to get this rig running...I am upgrading from an athlon 1.333/gefore3 ti500!

Hey, another quick question for you -- I checked out nvidias site for chipset based drivers. I grabbed the System utilities for XP and the Unified Drivers for XP and Linux. Any other drivers you would suggest I grab???

Cheers,
DJM

The reason I inquired about disabling the on-board NIC has nothing to do with wanting Gbit enthernet or fretting over PCI utilization...it is simply that I do not only use Windows on my system...I also use Trustix Linux, and I am not 100% sure if the realtec NIC is supported. I have several Intel pro/100+ laying around and has very good driver support under linux...

I'm not sure about that distro, but Mandrake 10.0 for AMD 64 did have drivers both my onboard and my gigabit ethernet card. The gigabit is working slow, so I think there's a bitter driver out there somewhere...
