Question for Canon S330 Owners

Spooner

Why does it take so long to take the initial picture when using the flash?

It seems like i have to hold down the shutter button forever!

hella annoying :disgust:

don't have that problem. only in lowlight, the camera occationally cannot focus. Altho, i have to say in those instances, i didn't exactly have the AF beam on.. heh.

what situations are you in when that happens?

Yeah... it seems like only in low-light situations. When I'm not using the flash at all, it's quick as hell.

How do I change the settings so it goes faster?

same problem with my S330, dunno reason why.
Sometimes I wonder what if i were to buy a 12x compact flash card
would that help? do you think?

My 330 acts the same way.

Try this workaround (sort of). Focus on you subject by pressing half way down on the button (you can feel a detent) and hold it for a couple of seconds. When your ready press down all the way and it should flash immediately. At first its not easy to do but with practice it works great.

This is how I take a cute picture of my cats. I focus on something close to them so they dont see the range finder beam and blink. Then I keep holding the button down until they do something cute and I get a good fast shot.

Good luck.
