Question for Canadians: What are you most proud of?

I am not implying Canadian is not a country to be proud of, and I'm NOT bashing, I'm just asking. What makes you proud of being Canadian?

Note: Please don't answer with "We don't have Bush" or some other dumb answer.

They don't have Obama.

I don't agree with Obama's policies, but I think everyone should be proud of him. He came a long way and is an American success story.

*woosh*

I was posting jokingly, because OP said not to say something like "We don't have Bush". Well we don't have Bush either so....

Serious answer: multiculturalism. We are a country of immigrants (some of us more recent than others) and the influx of different ethnicities and cultures has given us a rich diversity that is the envy of many countries around the world.

I have friends of numerous ethnicities (Chinese, Filipino, Indian, etc.) and we share different parts of our culture. Unless I really stop to think about it, I don't even notice that they're of a different ethnicity than me (I'm Caucasian). It just doesn't matter.

oh man, i couldn't just name one thing. i'm proud to be a Canadian, but i'm also glad that i live close to the States...

surely you couldn't answer the same of your own country with one thing? "apple pie!" 😛

peameal bacon? 😛

But the vast majority of your immigrants are Asian. America is far more diverse than Canada.

Having two races white and Asian dominate the demographics is not that diverse.

Bush is one of the worst presidents ever, but don't crap on my thread. I'm sure you've never made a slip of the tongue and said something that made little sense.

I'm free to express my opinion in whatever way I want, you weren't paying attention in school when they were reading out your rights. I can only imagine what you were upto....

That's one of mine as well. I don't care that I'm often the "Minority" or that everytime I go to the Mall I hear half a dozen different languages spoken or thhat my Bank Machine has 5+ languages to choose from. The World lives here and that provides myself and the country innumerable opportunities that wouldn't exist in a Melting Pot.
