I live in Victoria and I want to buy a Duron and ASUS A7V online (just so I can get the best price). My question is will I have to pay taxes and/or duty to bring them across the border from the US? (as that's most likely where it will be coming from) If I do have to then that Duron will end up costing me almost $200 instead of $135! Thanks. :)

You should pick up an issue of The Computer Paper which is distributed between the 15th and 20th of every month. They always have advertisers for computer shops and the like. Here's the mag link:

http://www.canadacomputes.com You should check out the local distribution for places near you. You may have to find the Lower Mainland edition rather than the Island edition for the best advertising.

and here are some more Vancouver area stores to check out:

http://www.addax.bc.ca
http://www.atic.ca
http://www.icicomputer.com

Netlink Computers (NCIX) is an alright place. Decent selection but their prices tend to be middle of the pack at best. ATIC has decent prices but their service is iffy and they have issues with the BBB here and there. Buyer beware. ICI Computers has decent prices and they are pretty reliable as well. Check them out. I've had friends buy stuff from ADDAX and they seem to be decent as well.

my website has customer reviews of local shops (vancouver BC) including addax, atic, onvia, maybe ici, not sure about that one.

A whole crap load of store reviews in short.
