Question for black posters...and white posters...and other posters.

Question...this goes for any skin type really. But anyway, when you envision other posters (not that i do often, but when i think about it), do you view them as being your own skin color or something else (i'll say white for black, and vice versa)?

I've always been curious about this. Seems like the results could be kinda interesting.

Also, for any jackasses that will talk about "posters" being inanimate objects, no, i mean people who post on this forum.

I imagine posters as images of their avatars. On other forums this is a bit easier because there aren't a million other people with the Flag/Crab avatar.

I don't think about color, but I generally expect them to be nerds living in their parents basement.

How many black dudes are nerds living in their parents basement?
All black dudes are too cool to live in their parents basement....
You don't see Shaft living in his parent's basement! Therefore, no other black dudes could!

Stereotyping is OK as long it's a positive stereotype, right?

Yep that to.
Im not racist though.

It's not a question of who is what color as we are all people no matter the color of our skin, the ethnic heritage, or economic background.

I picture everyone naked!!!!

I don't think I'd buy a plain black or white poster. That'd be boring. Course, my walls are racist white already.

This is a good question. Until someone posts their pic or mentions their Race/Ethnicity we all are left with our own imagination to fill in such details. Though I don't consciously choose to, my Default assumption is that Posters are White European descent. That's mainly what I am and it's still the Majority in North America so I don't have a problem with that assumption. I'm sure others have their own criteria. All I know is that there have been times I thought I was reading something posted by White Trash KKK wannabes and they turned out to be anything but White. Kinda makes for some awkward backtracking and rethinking about stuff.

The running stereotype of computer nerds (the stereotype of the average AT poster), is a White or Asian person. There you go.

Actually makes sense from a population standpoint. The most computerized countries in the world are predominantly white and/or Asian. Most of Africa, Latin/South America/, and sland Nations don't have anywhere near the sheer volume of technology present in said white/Asian countries.

India is somehwhere in between.

Then you'll LOVE the avatar I use on other sites...(yes, I have a sized-down version) 😀

i'm white, i dont picture other posters.

i did that once, and the image has scarred me for life.

NOOOOO, ITS COMING BACK!!!

AGGHGHGHHGHHHHHHHHH

btw, for the op, there's other classifications than caucasoid and negroid. there's also mongoloid 😉

I can't answer any of these, because I don't imagine anyone posting as any color. I only imagine them visually if I've seen a picture of them, otherwise they're just their avatar.

Honestly, I tend to think of most people here as white and male unless I actually know that you're female. Some of you may be black, some of you may be Asian, some of you may be Indian, and some of you may be gay...It doesn't really matter and my opinion or respect for you doesn't change when and if I find out through your posts that you are not what I perceived you to be. I may not even remember what race you are in future posts even if you state it over and over again. Pics definitely help though and there are a number of members here who I would recognize in person.
