Question For Bank of America Customers

BigJ

Lifer
I've got a BoA FleetOne Gold MM Savings account (MMS). I was originally with Fleet before the merger. Since the merger I've noticed I've been charged "Account Activity Fees" where this was never charged to my savings account before. Anyone know what exactly these fees are before I call up b!tching?

No clue. Could be if you have less than a minimum amount. Personally I'd close any account where they start charging me money.

yeah my bet is you're below minimum balance.
for me i'm required to have a minimum $1000 across all my accounts to keep it free.

if i don't have that i need to have direct deposit enabled.

just means they dont want you using a saving account as a normal account. open a checking account or speak with customer service on this.

Well there is no monthly fee as long as I'm linked to a FleetOne Gold Account (which I am, my father's accounts). This is the 2nd time they've done this to me, and it's only about $10, but I'm gonna raise hell over it. $10 is enough to last me more then an entire week in college.

The only way I use it is paying my CC bill online, transferring money between savings and checkings, or withdrawing from it at an ATM. I don't see how this is any different then what they expect me to use it.

I've been using it like this for the past 6 months without a problem, and the past 2 I've started getting charged fees.

I've experienced the same thing. I was charged for Account Activity Fees. I was a Fleet customer before the merger. :frown:

They do something with our accounts where they transfer i think 10 dollars every month from checking to savings (i guess they want to be able to use our money...) .. we would get charged if they weren't allowed to do that

Bank of the Northern Hemisphere.

Dude, drop them like a rock, get wamu or something else that is True free checking, or go with a credit union as they don't take joy in @ssraping their customers.

Bank or America or aka Fleet sucks. They have all kinds of scams going. I pay all my bills online and have for a long time. One day I noticed that my balance on my Fleet card was higher than it should have been. When I reviewed my history I noticed I had been charged late fees. I was like stunned, I usually pay a couple of days ahead of time. Upon checking BoA aka Fleet requires even paying online, you have to pay 3 work days in advance or at the local branch with cash to be credited with paying your bill that day. Citibank and Amex both credit your account with paying that day even on weekends, as long as its before 3pm even on your due date. BoA, aka Fleet got me twice. After cussing them out literally, they refunded me for both late charges. And get this the first one I had paid 4 days before my due date and because they were slow with drawing the money they charged me for it, I was like wtf. I threatened to file a lawsuit against them if that bs happened again. I have good size credit line, I am paying off the balance in January and just not going to use the account. I have Mastercard and Amex, they are good enough and not rip off artists. BoA sucks

The problem is transferring is that I don't have the minimum balance or Direct Deposit I would need to get free checks, checking, and savings. If I wasn't broke right now I would gladly change banks. I'm busy today so I'll give those cheats a call tomorrow.

If you transfer more than three to five times a month between accounts they charge you money for it.

In the month of August with Fleet I transfered from my Savings account to my Checking account approx 9 times and a was not charged a fee for that month.
