Question for anyone with Windows XP and Nero 5.5.8.2

I have just installed Windows XP (replacing Windows 98SE) and reinstalled Nero v5.5.8.2. The Nero screen is now an unfamilar one. It says Nero Express and has a number of choices on the right of the box; data, music, video/pictures etc.) My concern is that XP and Nero might not be playing happily together. If anyone has Nero 5.5.8.2 on a Windows XP machine, do you get the Nero Express box when you click on Nero Burning Rom to start the program?
Thanks.

Looks like you got a copy of Nero Express by accident. Nero Burning Rom and Nero Xpress are two different programs IIRC. Did you input a serial number when you loaded Nero? That may be the problem.

Tut tut tut.....How can he have the wrong serial number?.....If he bought an original copy, the serial number doesn't just change for no reason?...😛

Ja, I got the same result with you, I feel it's terrific! Oh, I found a site, it says you can "free" down the "Mp3Pro_Plugin" and "SVCD_Plugin" for Nero Burning Rom 5.5.8.2. You can find them from the Free Download Area of www.jummpa.com

Shagga,
My Nero 5 came bundled with my TDK burner. That is why I knew what the usual screen looked like. I had tried to upgrade to the new version, but have gone back to what I had. It works fine. I upgrade, BIOS's and software just because upgrades become available - that is to say for no good reason. This time it didn't work.

As far as I can tell, version 5.5.8.2 IS nero express. I like it, but some have complained it is a dumbed-down version of Nero. I haven't looked around at it enough to see if this is so.

if i remeber correctly, nero express was distributed as an oem/bundle product where as nero was retail.. you got an oem serial.. when you upgrade to nero 5.5.8.2, it becomes nero express.. ahead only release 1 version of 5.5.8.2, but your serial determines whether you get nero or nero express.
