Hopefully that was descriptive enough for Wangel :)

Anyway, for anyone that travels a lot by airplane. Do you ever get a peircing pain above one or both eyes during the landing approach? Doesn't happen every time, maybe 50%. I am kind of curious if this is something that should have me ready to curl up in a fetal position in a closet somewhere and ready for the end, or is it just an annoyance that I have to deal with. I will be getting it checked out either way, but won't be able to for a while and was looking for people with like experiences.

Its just your sinuses that are causing that... I never have this happen to me but a guy I know takes cold medicine to take those effects away...

i used to get extreme sinus pain when i was little, enough to get me to cry my eyes out(i have been flying since i was 8 i think, maybe 10, don't remember) and it was because of my allergies. i don't remember anything about my eyes though, sorry

It's very common... basically when your sinuses are stuffed, there's no proper compensation for changes in pressure, and you start feeling pressure in your sinus cavities. It can get to be extremely painful (I know!!).

It's also very likely to happen if you have allergies. The easiest way to deal with it is to take something with the ingredient psuedoephedrine in it about 45 minutes before flying (for example Sudafed). Some people are allergic to Pseudoephedrine, even though it's found in just about all cold medications over the counter, so be careful.

that is kind of what I thought, it is just weird because I have never had a single sinus problem before, though I did have my first and only sinus infections about a year ago, maybe that is what started it. Thanks for your replies though :)
