Question for all A8N32-SLi Owners

I recently built a new system with the A8N32-Sli Dlx motherboard, A64 X2 4400+, and eVGA 7800GTX KO. It's been running for a couple weeks now. There have been a few times when I system would lockup while playing games. Only like 3-4 times. I installed the ASUS Probe software lastnight and it is reporting that my chipset temp is at the threshold of 46C. I want to do something to lower the temp. This is all running in a Antec P160 case with one 120mm exhaust fan.

Should I add a 120mm intake fan, or replace the CPU heatsink with something like a Thermalright XP-90 or SI-120 to move more air over the northbridge chipset?

Is that one of the cases that the mobo is mounted upside down ? I have heard there are overheating problems in those cases with the Asus heatpipe boards. Since they are mounted upside down the heatpipe cooling dosnt work correctly.

If not, maybe try the optional fan that came with the board ?

afaik the P160 is normally orientated... mobo faces right side up. I have this board in a CM Stacker and i've never seen the NB temps over 30c Where do you get that 46c is the threshold? I think 46 is well within reason, nothing to worry about.

Its right at the threshold. I want to try to lower the temp if I can. I'm going to add a 120mm fan for intake, like a Yate-Loon. I need to tidy up my cables also.

I'm hoping to get a new case this summer, like the Silverstone TJ03.

46C is nothing, defiantly not enough to case instability. Try running Prime95 for 12-24 hours; if it passes the problem is likely somewhere else.

i had the A8N Premium before i had the a8n32 and it had nb temps well over 60c at times and was still rock stable. I don't think 46c is anything to worry about.
