Question - Do the li'l 8cm CDs work in slot loading and Car CD players???

Yes, unless your's is weird. They work in virtually all CD drives, Tray, Slot, & clip-tray.
The popular Pioneer slot-loading DVD drives play them at least 😀

Are you VERY sure? I have never heard of 8cm (3 inch) discs playing in Slot load players.

Those are my thoughts as well. Sure, the drive will READ the discs, but getting them to line up and load correctly is another thing...

Plus, the ejection mechanism might pose a problem. I don't think a standard slot loading (car type) player could push them far enough to get them out.

seem to recall pioneer stating that you shouldn't try using those disks in their slot loading drives!

I doubt they would, I wouldn't try it.

Centering them, and ejecting them would be an issue.

Just burn whatever you want to a regular CD for the road! 🙂

I don't think you are supposed to use the in slot loading CD players. I have some adapters that came with my CD-Mavicas that I think could be used for this purpose but I have never seen them for sale by themselves.

I used my super-tiny Nintendo GameCube preview disc (For PC, it's full of QuickTimes) in one...

There must be some problem with some slot load drives somewhere or sony wouldnt have spent the xtra 45 cents to include the adapters. Maybe if you had your Slot load drive mounted vertically for some strange reason?

Sony's Mini-CDs are not the same as standard 8cm! That's why they hold a different amount...

I have no doubt that your Pioneer DVD player will play them but 8cm is 8cm regardless. Its a standard size for CDR media and there is a smaller tray built into the tray loading cd-roms that just happens to be 8cm as well. The track density is whats different. Look at 650MB and 700MB cds, they are both the same size but hold different amounts.
