Question concerning the 6600GT AGP

My current video card blew a cap so I was looking to upgrade to the 6600GT. However, my system is still state-of-the-art-circa-2003 and my mobo has a 4x agp slot. Will this card run in a 4x slot even though it's an 8x card? This will only be a temporary solution until I can get a new mobo/system. I was thinking of getting the DFI lanparty board unless someone has bad things to say about it......

Yes, 8x is backward compatible with 4x. You'll be fine, Just don't forget to plug in the extra power connector.

Newegg has one for 225 I believe...XFX manufacture....does anyone have any concerns about that card?

Other than that its sold out, its almost a standard reference card. Although, its memory is 1Ghz; above the AGP 6600GT's rated 900Mhz. BFG's got a 6600GT AGP in the works with some nice overclocks as well.
