Question concerning SLI boards

Ok im waiting on DFI's ownage SLI board and im wondering if i can run it with one 6800GT (or X800 for that matter, not decided yet) at 16x Pci-e speed, until such time as i purchase another 6800 down the track to run in SLI (2x8 Pci-e speed)

Actually, I think THG did some tests using two different cards for multiple monitor support. The results were that after plenty of coaxing, and driver tweaks, an MSI SLI board displayed on multiple monitors using an nv/ati mixture. 😉
