I am assembling an AMD machine by myself for the first time, and I am confused what to get... This is a college machine, so it is used for gaming, business aplications, mp3z and you know the rest . Anyway here's what I have:

Advanced socket 462 MotherBoard, Model: GT133KT. MotherBoard.
It supposedly accepts Duron & Athlon upto 1Ghz. For this motherboard, which one should I get?? I don't know the difference between Athlon & Duron.

NEWEGG has:
1) AMD ATHLON THUNDERBIRD 950MHz Socket A PGA - OEM 200MHz FSB (N82E16819103141) for $60 &
2) AMD DURON 950MHz SOCKET A PGA PROCESSOR - OEM (N82E16819104125) for $67

Which one is better for this motherboard?

Another stupid question, do I need a heatsink/cooling fan for this cpu, manual also says to apply a thermal of jelly between cpu & heatsink, what the hell is jelly??

Any advice is helpful guys.

thx.

Thunderbird. Duron is the low end version of the Thunderbird.

Interesting prices, those.
