Question about ZoneAlarm....

i have it set so that it does not start up automatically. this means that i can not view webpages until i open it.

however, norton and ms messenger can both get updates, without it being on. this indicates that there is some kind of way around zonealarm.

just wondering if anybody has noticed this, and whether there is a way to fix this,
 
If it is not starting up automatically, you may not be protected.

ZoneAlarm also detects what apps are attempting to get out when you first install it. If you allow those apps to get through, then you will never be notified again.
