Question about Zip 250

I purchased and installed a Iomega Zip 250 and I'm having a problem with it. When I use Zip 100 disks from work, the drive does not recognize them until after I reformat them. Then it will recognize them as Zip 100 disks.

But when I use a Zip 100 disk from work in a Zip 250 at work, I do not have to reformat the 100 disk, it automatically recognizes it. Any suggetions as to what may be wrong?
