Question about XMMS....

I was wondering, where is the default xmms skin stored in ? I can't find it anywhere ! I looked in /usr/share/xmms/Skins & /home/linuxator/.xmms/Skins and I can't find it.
I looked on XMMS's website and still no go .

I need the default black and blue XMMS skin so I can copy it to Beep's directory at : /home/linuxator/.bmp/SKins so that Beep can use it too.

I think you have to create the skins dir at /usr/share/xmms

As I said in the OP I have looked in /usr/share/xmms/Skins and the only theme that is there is Bluecurve nothing else, when I looked at /home/linuxator/.xmms/Skins it isn't there either, ofcourse the difference between both is that one is system wide, and the other is user specefic, but the default theme isn't in any of them which is odd.

Heh, sorry, didn't specificly read the OP. I think the default theme might be built in.

I don't understand what do you mean by built in exactly ? It's got to be somewhere ? I even looked into the xmms rpm even there I couldn't find a single trace for a skin . HMMM this is getting a little confusing, why are they hiding the black and blue skin like that ?

I think the themes are compiled into xmms the same way you can embed images into Windows programs through the use of resource files. I guess the reason for this is to prevent errors when the default skin is removed.

Ya, I already thought that it's hidden in somewhere but I thought that they would have it in a separete folder , that way if it was deleted by the user , XMMS will go back to that folder and copy it /load it back so the GUI doesn't crash. But It didn't come to my mind that it would be compiled in like that.

But thanx a lot for the link, I have converted those .xpm 's to .bmp and built them into a skin folder and now BMP is using the sweet XMMS skin, and I couldn't be any happier so here is to you !!

Now Beep fits right in to my system's theme here is a Pic
I am also going to edit the borders (where it says X Multimedia Player and either make it blank or make it say BMP) but it takes a lot of effort though, you have to modify them square by square and it's pretty hectic.
