Question about wireless routers

My cousin is considering buying a wireless router because it's obviously more convenient than wiring and drilling. My biggest concern is that the walls in her house are going to cause problems for the connection. how much interference will the walls cause?
 
Nobody knows because every environment is different when using wireless LAN technologies. Makeup of wall. Shape. AP and client placement. Interference from other devices. Get your hardware from a place with a decent return policy if your expectations aren't met but advice to your questin would be user and environment specific. Conjecture at best.
 
Agreed. If it's a regular little house out in the 'burbs you probably won't have any problems, but you can never be sure. (My router is in the corner of the basement & I can connect all over the house as well as the patio.) FWIW.
 
I just hooked up a Netgear 814 based wireless system at home. My main computer with cable modem is downstairs on one side of the house, and my kids computer is upstairs on the other side of the house. Could not have been further apart if I tried, but everything works great. The signal strength is only 1 bar down from maximum, and games and internet on their computer"seem" to be just as fast. I am very satisfied.
