Question about Vista, Bluray and my HDTV

I remember all the talk about Vista's DRM and it requiring a monitor that complies with whatever standard that is (HDCP?). Is that still the case?

What do I need to do get 720p content from my Vista Ultimate PC to my HDTV? I'd like to be able to play Bluray movies using this drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...27136154&Tpk=GGC-H20LK

... I'm just not sure how to cable it all up so that I get an HD signal and audio on the TV. The TV has a VGA port, DVI port (I'll have to double check what type exactly), component and HDMI ports.

My video card only has a spare DVI port for a second monitor so I'm thinking that's probably what I'll have to use. Any tips for setting this up?

Just get a video card that supports audio over hdmi. I think most the the newer nvidia ones do as well as the ATI. I think pretty much everything is now HDCP compliant.

I don't want a new video card. I have an 8800GT with two DVI ports and my TV is a 32 inch Westinghouse that I got about a year and a half ago. So my real question is will Vista's DRM prevent me from using the DVI port to connect the TV to my computer (audio isn't an issue, that'll be easy to take care of)?

Everything has to be HDCP compliant to play blu-ray. You TV should be HDCP compliant but I dunno about your video. Don't blame vista, blame the BDA and the movie industry. It's the reason microsoft added extra DRM to Vista and the reason why Blu-ray doesn't work with OS X.
