no. they just stop working but it's rare. (fan stops spinning)

it's jsut a big block of metal. uses airflow from yuor case to cool it. no fan bu will need one. it wont cool well enough by itself to coll you 6800gt im guessing.

Some are recommending the zalman, some the arctic nv cooler and another person sais that the stasisthermal is the best. Which one is it?
