I'm going to be using 2 sticks of Kingston KHX4000/512R memory with an AMD Athlon XP mobile 2400 that I plan to OC. These modules are made to run at stock speeds of DDR533. My question is:

If I'm underclocking the speed of this ram(from DDR533 to DDR400 or so), can I lower the latencies below the listed 3-4-4-8? Or can you NOT go below the lowest claimed latency capabilities of certain modules/chips?
It's not as if I want to try and get super low latencies, but if I could reduce the CAS latency from 3 to 2.5 or 2 when underclocking the speed, that would be ideal for obvious reasons. Any thoughts or knowledge about this out there?

Knowledge,... eh,....???? but I do have a little experience with Kingston HyperX. Yeah, is should run 2-3-3-6 pretty easy if'n you are going to run it at 400 speeds.

If you underclock the ram, you should be able to lower the timings. Oh, if it is PC4000, the stock speed is DDR500, not 533, not that that matters for what your trying to do. I'm not using that specific ram, but I have some kingmax PC3500 that has latencies of 3-4-4-8 at stock speed, and I am running it at PC2100 speeds with timings of 2-2-2-6.(don't want to give up my extra 512mb of PC2100 I am running along with it yet, so thats why I am underclocking it).
