question about torquing

what does it mean when it saids " torque the fasteners to 10 ft-lbs above running torque"? what is above running torque?

It means use 10 ft-lbs more than the specified running torque?

What's confusing you? Do you have the recommended running torque?

Take running torque +10 ft pounds.
For example. If running torque is 25 ft-lbs you torque to 35 ft-lbs.

If running torque is 1 ft-lb you torque to 11 ft-lbs

i can't find a good definition of what a running torque is? what is it? minimum required force to turn the fastener?

It's the torque required whenever the thing it is fastening is "running". More details?

What kind of fastener, what kind of tool to fasten said fastener, what is it fastening?

in this case, i think it means the torque required to move the fastener on the threads.

like if your fastener has nylon insert, it takes 2 ft lbs to move it on the threads, you add that to the final torque value.
