Question about those front panel firewire slots

I just bought one of those Front I/O port that fits universally in an empty 5 1/4 bay and has slots for USB/firewire/Sound etc. Like the one here
here and was wondering since all those ports run through a single cable if the bandwidth would be reduced. For the serial and sound ports this isn't important, but for transfers of video via firewire it would. Does anyone know whether or not this drops the bandwidth below that of spec????

Thanks in advance.

As long as the single cable containes multiple wires, I don't see a problem. It can't be a single wire . . . that would screw everything up.

considering that the bay is pretty much an extension cord, performance will suffer some.

I do expect a performance decrease, but it will be neglible. so much so that you won't notice it.
