Question about this specific radar detector

ok, so im searching for a new radar detector...
now this one here, is the one im very interested in. But it doesnt say how many degress is can detect, whether irs 180 or 360..... It speciefies that the laser detectoris 360, but nothing about the radar..
Give me your thoughts on this detector, thanks!

I also had my eye on this one too, but it does not specify what bands it can detect.... I would most likely go for the one i stated above over this one here.... but let me know what your opinions are on it.....

Yes i know there is a dramatic price difference, but i did use the site the person listed, but which one do dyou think is better out of the 2 i just showed? The thing i like about the ESD 9850 model is it has the digital compas on it...

Any gadget that calls itself a radar dectector will pick up all of the radar bands.

www.radarguys.com has better prices than from Cobra direct.


Valentine1 is by far the best detector on the market, but too pricey for many.

Valentine 1 is the BEST. No question about it. It's more than the others, but it will also save you a$$ many time over it's cost.

those 360 degree radar detectors dont work for squat if you have tinted windows.

If you're willing to spend $280 you'd be foolish to not just get the Valentine 1. The Valentine 1 is the ONLY detector with true 360 degree detection.

Not necessarily, the radar could be bouncing off cars/signs in front of you, and that's what your radar detector could be picking up, not the radar directly from the cop.

True that, the V1 is the bomb, worth every penny IMHO.

What do the tinted windows do? Does Police radar bounce off the tint like it does off steel?
I haven't had a radar detector in many years.

Tinted windows have an adverse affect on radar detection. Certain cars in particular have factory tint that can hurt the effectiveness of a radar detector trying to detect radar going through this tint and I imagine that after-market tint would have the same effect or worse.

If you really want the best protection go for Valentine 1 (link in perry's post above).

It's worth every penny spent on it. I have had it for 2 years now and saved hundreds (possibly thousands) by knowing where the lurkers were. When they are being sneaky you have to respond in kind and you can't get better 'ammo' than valentine 1.

Does not have the bells & whistles that other have - like voice etc. but has the best detection by far.

your partly right on the tinted windows.. but not completely.. the tint they refer to is is the banding they put on some cars on the top of the car. That does block the radar effect, however I dotn kow if other tints do so. I havent seen any noticable differece with teh tint on my dads car.

OK - So the radar signal bounces off the tinted window and the detector can't detect what doesn't reach it. Sounds pretty straightforward to me.
