Question about this MOBO

It has very good onboard audio but kind of vague on online reviews.

As far as popularity ranking, it's 9th; ASUS being first.

That's an extremely opinionated reply.

Intel branded mainboards are extremely stable, and have one of the best warranties in the business. However they are not aimed at the enthusiast crowd since a vast majority of the boards limit overcocking (5-10% in most cases) and remove a lot of bios tweaks. The NVIDIA 500 Intel series received a thumbs down for lack of overclocking performance, but the 600i series is a whole different beast. In fact the 680i is probably the best overclocking platform for Intel right now.

I have never had a problem with any Intel board I've own (and it all dates back to FX chipset for the PPro).

That being said, they are not the most tweakable boards (cept for the BadAxe).

Intel mbs are stable and reliable, bios updates and other support is available many years down the road. They are just not for the AT crowd - none or limited overclocking - for the new 965 chipset they have the most features (including Firewire) at prices less than or comparable to the lower end Asus and Gigabyte mbs. So if you are not planning on serious gaming, these boards are excellent. You wont find too many reviews as they are often simply ignored by the popular websites - that doesn't mean they are no good.

I just built a system using this board and it's runs fine. I built the sytem for my young sons, so it is not going to be overclocked, still fast enough with a core 2 duo. Has good audio and video, plenty of SATA, USB, 1394 support. I just wanted a good stable motherboard for the system so it will last a few years.

My last two mobos in my home work machines were intel mobos. You can't overclock at all (a little maybe) but they are as stable as any server motherboard out there.

So freaking true! When was an Intel user ALL of my mobos always had an Intel chipset. Had an Intel chip on a modo with a VIA chipset, nothing but problems. But, I switched to AMD around 7 months ago and now Intel is making kickass Core 2 Duo that spanks AMD (for now). For years I have always wanted to go AMD and when I finally do, what happens, Intel makes a great chip. Oh well, i'm still happy with my current main system.

I'm running the retail edge combo that included the dg965wh. Rock solid. No overclocking options. Only downside would be the tight memory requirements.

curious if anyone is using this mobo with an antec psu?

some of the reviews at newegg say they have not had luck with this board and an antec neo 550 which is what I am using. Any thoughts?
