Question about the upcoming elections in Iraq

Alhurra tunes in to Iraq election

"We are interviewing people who lost families under Saddam Hussein's rule, who were tortured, and the message is if you do not take part in these elections, they can come back and rule you again," Mr. Harb said.

A series of public-service ads are also being broadcast repeatedly by Alhurra to encourage Iraqis to get out and vote. One of them shows Iraqi victims of Saddam Hussein's regime talking about their suffering, followed by a voice-over and screen caption that says, "So the horrors won't recur ... be a part of drawing your future. ... Vote!"

There is more than politics on Alhurra, too. It also carries local reports, something the two other major Arab networks do not, about school openings, profiles of teachers and business people, as well as Iraqi sportscasts in a country where soccer is immensely popular and its top players are considered national heroes.

Good luck, Iraq! This is a good start for your prosperous future.

ok....maybe I wasn't clear in my question

Are there candidates? Who are they? Where do they stand on issues? What else is on the ballot?

The candidates that meet the approval of the American overseers will garner the most votes in each polling area. If a candidate that does not fit into the predetermined criteria should happen to rise to the top and win, the results will be tainted in some way, disputed, or the votes will mysteriously disappear.

Hey, not so loud, they dont know yet.
I think it is going to be a surprise.

First we have to figure how to avertise the election without killing those who are running. It's like this, most of the country does not read, so we need alot of pictures or posters. Now here is where the problem comes in, once we put them on a poster, the bad guys now know and can identify who running.

them ppl aint gonna be able to vote, not when they're dead before they can get inside the building. They're all gonna fill in Saddams name anyway
