I am setting up a not profit orginization called R.O.C.K. (Recycled Old Computers For Kids)we collect old/Used Computer parts (or entire computers) install all the applications that are necessary for a home computer (Windows, Word Processor, Internet, parental control software upon request) we give training to the recipiants. the familys that recive the computers are ones that normally would not beable to afford them.

what I am wondering if its OK to post a request for spare computers or computer parts for this cause?

Thank you for you time.

that sounds like a really good idea. i have read about a similar program here in Australia where they do that. of course you have to check with the mods, but i think it sounds fair.

one thought that comes to mind though, some companies might not be too happy with you installing their apps on computers and then passing them on, and then installing them on more computers.

i personally have nothing against it, but i can see that some people might.

we do everything lealgly 🙂 we try to get licences donated but some companys don't we have a cash stash for bying things like windows if we need to...
