question about the return policy at best buy, and Fry's

If i have an item. 400 dollar item, open it up, see that it is not working, and try to return it, will i get store credit? or cash-back (item was bought with cash)

if you open it up and its still in its orginal condition/still have recipet within 30 days for normal stuff you can return it to BB no problem.. dont know about fry's.. we dont have them here on the east coast.. best buy is usualy pretty good about returns..

at best buy it would be a check mailed weeks later from minnesota.

i haven't paid that much attention to fry's, but i do know that if its factory shrink wrapped and in those giant zip ties they have then they'll still open it up and accuse you of stealing the manual
