Question about the national guard, navy reservist, etc.

As some of you may know my car's tranny is going. Should I join one of these things to get the money to fix my car? I really don't want to be called away though. Is there a good chance of that happening soon? (and yes I know Bush plans to invade Iran at some point and God knows what else).

Yes. Because no one in the national guard or the reserves have EVER been called up for a war. Trust me, I know this to be a FACT.

but i've heard recruitment levels are at a all time low. wouldn't that make being called away if your in the reserves more likely?

I had to look twice to see if this post was dated 3 years ago.

ooops. i mean Iran 😀

😱

Friend of mine is getting recalled already... So I wouldn't do it if you don't actually want to provide a service.

You would regret it for the entire 8 years you had to serve. My unit has been to Iraq twice, and they are hinting at a 3rd deployment. Kinda hard to have a civilian life when that 'one weekend a month, 2 weeks in the summer' turns into deployment every chance they get.

Uh, yeah. The OP would have to be living under a rock to not know that reservists and national guard troops are over in Iraq. I took the OP to be tongue in cheek, actually.
