Question about the movie "Heat"

Why did she try to commit suicide in Vincent's hotel room? Why the hell would she be staying with him and not her mother...especially considering that he had just recently moved out after his wife was screwing Ralph.

I was watching the movie again tonight and that part has always bothered me.

I was watching the movie again tonight and that part has always bothered me.

She wasn't staying there with Vincent, she just went to his hotel probably wanting to talk to him before killing herself, or maybe wanting him to stop her from doing it.

But either way I'm 100% sure she was not staying there. I believe I remember a scene when Vincent is at the hospital, the mother says something along the lines of "she went to you."
