Question about the ASUS A8n-SLI

I'm a first time builder, and I have the premium edition in my shopping cart, but after reading comments about it, I saw that it doesn't accept the AMD 64 x2 (It says CPU Type: AMD G4/FX) The same goes for the delux board. But the normal ASUS A8n-SLI on Newegg says that its CPU types are AMD 64/x2/FX. So what's the deal? Should I be getting the normal board? Note: Ordering an AMD 64 X2 4200+

Dunno what you want. But I have A8N-SLI premium. On the box I see a sticker with X2 support, and I have Athlon 64x2 4200 too. It runs very cool. Welcome

Ohh, it's A8N-SLI Premium as mine. Please click on the box image you will see 3 kinds of CPU's support logos.

I don't have 2 Gb OCZ as you want. But I have 2Gb Corsair 3500. It runs fine and can OC a little.

Tips: I can use 3 sticks of 512 Mb Corsair 3200 LLPro and 1 stick of OCZ 512 High Performance without a problem to have 2 Gb. Please remember Nforce4 only support 2T if you combine 4 sticks in memory slots. Change it to 2T before you use 4 sticks. Besides, OCZ costs you little than Corsair, and now I like OCZ as you. (in the past it's very difficult to RMA in Nord America, but now I think they do).

Okay, well I plan to just use two slots with the 1GB each, so I shouldn't have too much of a problem, right?

2x 1Gb is always the best deal. You will have more power because you can set it run at 1T instead of 2. I can see it run faster clearly with 1T.

Ofcourse, it can run, but running over year, I don't guarantee it. Remember PSU is very important too, Enermax 600W or Seasonic 600W are recommended.

At my case, I can run A8N-SLI Premium with Antec True Power Blue version 1 480W, Raidmax 630W. But I like put Seasonic and Enermax inside my rig then.
