Question about stereotypes...

This isn't meant to be offensive, but it is.

If you characterized people who live in trailers as redneck, low income, uneducated white trash, there's nothing wrong with that. However, if you characterize every person who lives in the projects as low income, uneducated welfare trash, there's something wrong with that.

I find it curious. Any thoughts?

I don't find anything wrong with either because there are people like that in each of those living environments.

 

You know what I really dislike ?

Black people calling me beloved patriot and there's nothing wrong with it, call them a derogatory name (Not going to metion it) and I am called a racist.

Why wouldn't one call a Black Person calling a White Person a beloved patriot a racist? I would.

In my state, if you call a black man in public a n......., you get arrested, yet many black men call white people beloved patriot, you figure it out, I can't.

The low income and poorly educated parts aren't very offensive. Nobody who could afford to live somewhere else would live in the projects. Low income is usually a result of poor education, though it's too much of a generalization.

It's the welfare trash part that's offensive. Why would you think it's okay to call any person "trash". I don't think I need to go into why people might get offended at that.

Calling someone "white trash" is offensive too. On both a personal level to any individual you called that, and anyone who lived in a trailer park would probably resent that.

I've had "beloved patriot" yelled at me by a four year old black girl on a city street.

You'd actually be surprised what power that term has, regardless of the race of the person to whom it is applied. Look a man square in his eye and call him a racist, I guarantee you he will do a double take.
