Question about Steam

I was wondering how it works if you install steam on two computers?

For example, i have it load with all my purchased games on main computer. I was thinking about buying psychonauts or other platformers and buying an xbox360 controller and playing the game on my HTPC computer. Is this legal to have the steam games installed on two computers at once? I just don't want steam to backfire and kill my account or something.

thanks

You can be logged into steam from one computer at a time. It'll work just fine.

I have it installed on seperate partitions, and it doesn't seem to be a problem. Although steam itself has never worked quite right for me.

I play civ4 and samnmax on my lappy
And play tf2 on the desktop

all from the same steam account, works fine as long as you just do one of them at the same time... or go offline mode with one of the clients :)

offline games can be played on multiple computers if you just use the offline mode. only the online games are restricted to one at a time.

You are right, you can have games installed on 2 PC's, it just will only let you play one at a time.
