Is it a better idea to buy it all online at StateFarms' website, or go to a StateFarm agent. I feel an agent can explain everything to me better. However i'm worried if they charge a ton? Or will it be the same price as online?

They'll charge the same price as online and will often times find ways to save you even more that you wouldn't otherwise even have known about.

O RYLY?
I had renters insurance for years and never had any agent come for an inspection. Even after our garage got burglarized and I turned in a HUGE claim for stolen tools and misc. we were not inspected. MAY be standard in some places, but I never experienced it...
Keep a very detailed log of your personal effects that you want covered, including receipts (if you have them ) serial numbers where applicable, and take photos of the stuff, in case of a claim, so you can actually prove you owned said stuff...

Either way an agent has to come to your house or apartment and look at stuff.

Through whom? Many different insurance companies have different working policies;
State Farm, on a bigger claim, would send out a field evaluator to examine the loss. It is, however, a good idea to keep track of what you own . . . you wouldn't believe what some people try to pass off as owning.
