Question about Stairs

US stays to the right. I think it follows the driving rules for the country.

Stairs are weird because they can go up and down at the same time. :Q

This question came to be because I used to just berserk up stairs until I really learned about driving.

I usually walk through malls or down sidewalks on the left. People (in the US) walk on the right without really thinking about it, so seeing their reaction is interesting.

Yes, I'm easily amused.

But I usually walk on the right side of the sidewalk

In my travels I havn't noticed a difference in the side a person takes when going down or up stairs (usually they just take which side is the closest to them)

Generally speaking, I'll take whatever is the shortest path up or down the stairs but if someone is coming in the opposite direction then it's common courtesy in this country to move to the right.

Having just spent a month in Sydney, yes, they do. You can tell the tourists from the locals by where they walk.
